Malaria elimination and Community health development Association (MECHDA) organized a collaborative malaria prevention SBC initiative at Shashogo Woreda, Central Ethiopia, from August 27–30, 2025. The campaign was organized by the Federal Ministry of Health, the Central Ethiopia Regional Health Bureau, and the Hadiya Zone Health Department. During a preliminary stakeholder consultation, 71,000 long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) were distributed to over 30,000 households to protect against mosquito-borne malaria.
The campaign focused on raising public awareness across all 34 kebeles. Messages were disseminated in markets, public spaces, and along roadsides, emphasizing proper net usage, and elimination of mosquito breeding sites, indoor spraying, and seeking prompt treatment when malaria symptoms occur.
Through these activities, the campaign successfully reached more than 100,000 residents with critical malaria prevention information, strengthening community engagement and promoting life-saving practices.
ማዕከላዊ ኢትዮዽያ ክልል በሀድያ ዞን ሻሾጎ ወረዳ የወባ መከላያ አጎበር አጠቃቀምን ለማሻሻል የማህበረሰብ ንቅናቄና የቅስቀሳ ስራ ከወባ ማስወገድና ህብረተሰብ ጤና ልማት ማህበርና ከፌዴራል የጤና ሚኒስተር ጋር በመተባባር ከ21/12/2017 ጀምሮ ለ4 ተከታታይ ቀናት ተካሂዷል፡፡ የንቅናቄዉን ስራ ዉጤታማ ለማድረግ ከባለድርሻ አካላት ጋር ማለትም የክልሉ ጤና ቢሮ፣ የዞን ጤና መምሪያ፣ የማህበሩ እንድሁ የሻሾጎ ወረዳ ጤና ጽ/ቤት ተወካዮች ባሉበት የምክክር ሰብሰባ በሻሾጎ ወረዳ ጤና ጽ/ቤት ተካሂዷል፡፡ በወቅቱ በወረደዉ 71000 አጎበር ከ30000 በላይ አባወራ ተሰራጭቷል፡፡
በቅስቀሳ ስራዉ ህብረተሰቡ አጎበር በአግባቡ እንዲጠቀም፣ የወባ ትንኝ በራቢያ ቦታዎችን እንዲያፋስስ፣ ቤቶችን እነዲያስረጭ ፣ የወባ ህመም ምልክቶች ሲታዩ ወድያዉ በአቅራቢያቸዉ ወደሚገኝ የጤና ድርጅት ሄደዉ እንድታከሙ በ34 ቀበሌዎች በገበያ ፣በህዝብ መሰብሰቢያ ቦታዎችና በመንገድ ዳር መልእክቶች ተላልፈዋል፡፡ በንቅናቄ ዘመቻዉ ከ100000 በላይ ህዝብ የወባ መከላከል መልእክቶች ተደራሽ ሆነዋል፡፡
