In collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the South West Ethiopian Regional Health Bureau, a comprehensive four-day community mobilization (SBCC) initiative was conducted from September 18, 2025. This campaign successfully engaged over 6,000 households across Tercha town and its surrounding districts, advancing towards the objective of distributing more than 14,000 Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) directly to residents.
The program’s scope extended beyond household distribution, with plans finalized for an additional 39,250 LLINs to be disseminated in the wider area (Tercha Zuria). To ensure community-wide impact, targeted messaging was delivered across 17 kebeles at key public venues, including markets, gathering points, and roadsides (street). These communications promoted the proper use of LLINs, the elimination of mosquito breeding sites through draining stagnant water, participation in indoor residual spraying, and the critical importance of seeking immediate medical attention upon the onset of malaria symptoms.
Through these activities, the campaign successfully reached more than 80,000 residents with critical malaria prevention information, strengthening community engagement and promoting life-saving practices.

የወባ ማስወገድና ህብረተሰብ ጤና ልማት ማህበር በደቡብ ምዕራብ ኢትዮዽያ ክልል በተርጫ ከተማና በተርጫ ዙሪያ ወረዳ የወባ መከላያ አጎበር አጠቃቀምን ለማሻሻል የማህበረሰብ ንቅናቄና የቅስቀሳ ስራ ከፌዴራል የጤና ሚኒስቴርና ከደቡብ ምዕራብ ኢትዮዽያ ክልል ጤና ቢሮ ጋር በመተባባር ከ08/01/2018 ጀምሮ ለ4 ተከታታይ ቀናት አካሂዷል፡፡ የንቅናቄዉን ስራ ዉጤታማ ለማድረግ ከባለድርሻ አካላት ጋር ማለትም የክልሉ ጤና ቢሮ፣ የዳዉሮ ዞን ጤና መምሪያ፣ የማህበሩ እንድሁ የተርጫ ከተማ አሰተዳደር ጤና ጽ/ቤት ተወካዮች ባሉበት የምክክር ሰብሰባ በተርጫ ከተማ አስተዳደር ጤና ጽ/ቤት ተካሂዷል፡፡ በወቅቱ በወረደዉ ከ14,000 በላይ አጎበር ከ6,000 በላይ አባወራ ተሰራጭቷል:: በተጨማሪ 39,250 አጎበር በተርጫ ዙሪያ ወረዳ ለማሰራጨት ዝግጅት አጠናቀዋል።፡፡
በቅስቀሳ ዘመቻዉ ህብረተሰቡ አጎበር በአግባቡ እንዲጠቀም፣ የወባ ትንኝ መራቢያ ቦታዎችን እንዲያፋስስ፣ ቤቶችን እነዲያስረጭ ፣ የወባ ህመም ምልክቶች ሲታዩ ወድያዉ በአቅራቢያቸዉ ወደሚገኝ የጤና ድርጅት ሄደዉ እንድታከሙ በድምሩ በ17 ቀበሌዎች በገበያ ፣በህዝብ መሰብሰቢያ ቦታዎችና በመንገድ ዳር መልእክቶች ተላልፈዋል፡፡ በንቅናቄ ዘመቻዉ በድምሩ ለ80,000 በላይ ህዝብ የወባ መከላከል መልእክቶች ተደራሽ ሆነዋል፡፡
